- Three Types of Sacrifices -
There are three types of sacrifices. The first type are the simplest - the sacrificing side sees a forced variation which will at the very least regain the sacrificed material.
The second is what Rudolph Spielmann referred to as a "real sacrifice". The consequences of these sacrifices are not fully calculable and are based on positional compensation.
The highest order of sacrifice occurs frequently in my games. These sacrifices do not involve material or positional compensation.
